Description | The main entrance lobby to the CU Student Rec Center was last renovated during the 2013 addition . The CU Student Rec Center would like to replace the guest services desk at the main entrance and improve surrounding finishes . The purpose of the remodel is to improve safety , aesthetics , and customer experience . Due to the extent of the renovation the main entrance will be shut down for the duration of the project and a temporary entrance will be provided by the CU Student Rec Center . Scope to include demolition of existing front desk and associated finishes , concrete slab repair in preparation for new turnstiles and floor finishes , installation of new floor tile and carpet , hard lid soffit installation , drop ceiling repair / replacement , electrical work for front desk and new turnstiles , lighting replacement , case work including millwork for new front desk and quartz counter top installation , turnstile installation , painting , and fire sprinkler modifications .
