USD Fire Alarm Testing FY27

Scope of Work This contract is for the Inspection of the Fire Alarm Service , Inspection and Testing for the University of South Dakota . The contract will run from July 1st , 2026 , to June 30th , 2027 . Annual inspections will take place per the attached bid documents , bid response , Exhibit A and in accordance with NFPA 72 - 2025 in USD ' s buildings and facilities . Full reports are due by August 1 of the inspection year , and the full report must be submitted electronically to the USD Director of Environmental Health and Safety . The contractor must schedule all testing with USD Director of Environmental Health and Safety at a minimum of one month prior to inspection . Contractors will not place stickers with company name on USD property ; only necessary tags will be allowed . Invoicing shall be submitted collectively according to their category of buildings and the fire alarm systems tested : Academic ( AC ) Fire Alarm systems Residential Housing ( RH ) Muenster University Center ( MUC ) Wellness Center ( WC ) Coyote Village Residential Hall ( CV ) All fixes / discrepancies will need to be submitted for approval prior to repairs taking place and include an itemized estimated cost of repairs and description of code issues . Approval for all repairs will be required prior to repairs taking place from Facilities Management . USD Reserves the right to use other firms for repairs . Required Services : Follow guidelines from NFPA 72 - 2025 , where applicable , to include : Check Wiring for shorts , opens , resistance to ground Check end of line resistor , diode , or capacitor Test all manual stations Test all signals – horns , bells , chimes , lights , strobes , and speakers Test Zone and remote annunciation Test zone coding and pre - signals Test local and remote trouble signals Test fan shut down Test Elevator recall
