The general work requirements shall include the following ( also refer to Exhibit A , Table 1 ): a . Contacting work area property - owners before beginning work , and keeping property owners notified as needed during progress ; b . Remove trees growing beneath distribution and transmission lines on private property when KPU or the Contractor has obtained permission from the property owner ( s ); c . Remove Fast Growth Rate Species trees whose trunks are growing beneath distribution and transmission lines in road right - of - ways ( ROWs ); d . Abide by proper natural pruning techniques ( refer to Exhibit A ); e . Prune any foliage to clear high voltage wires and neutral conductor ( refer to Exhibit A , Table 1 for minimum clearance distances ); f . Prune and foliage to clear secondary wires ( refer to Exhibit A , Table 1 for minimum clearance distances ); g . Prune any foliage to clear telephone / communication cables ( refer to Exhibit A , Table 1 for minimum clearance distances ); h . Clean up and dispose of all logs , prunings , brush , chips , and other debris resulting from the work . i . Perform corrective natural pruning on previously improperly pruned trees when found in work areas . j . As directed by KPU : a . Clear around base of utility poles for access ; b . Clear ROWs for existing high voltage lines , as directed by KPU ; c . Remove Slow - Medium Growth Rate Species trees growing beneath distribution and transmission lines in road right - of - ways ( ROWs ); d . Remove trees growing beneath secondary lines on private property when KPU or Contractor has obtained permission from the property owner ( s ). In these cases , the property owner ( s ) is responsible for disposal of all logs , prunings , chips , and other debris resulting from the work ; the Contractor shall neatly stack all debris to facilitate the property owner ’ s efforts .
