V - Notch Wiers in Gravity Thickener and Slide Gate Valve Installation

Prior to the start of the removal of the old V - Notch Weirs in Thickener # 1 , the contractor shall establish the elevation of the installed Weirs at as many points as is necessary to enable the new weirs to be set at the proper elevation when they are installed . Scope of Work for the Gate Valve and concrete repairs at the Headworks Prior to the beginning of the removal of the old Gate Valve and the required concrete repairs in channel # 2 at the Headworks , the Influent Flow passing through the channel will need to be diverted to Channel # 1 . V - Notch Weirs As a minimum , the contractor shall perform the work below for Thickener # 1 :  Mobilization to site – Tools , equipment , and supplies .  Check and record elevation of V - Notch Weirs .  Remove the old metal V - Notch Weirs that are fastened to the thickener wall .  Remove any loose concrete and apply new mortar in those areas as necessary .  Install the new Fiberglass Weirs as supplied by the WRBP following manufacturer ’ s specifications and good industry standards of care .  Fill the tank with water and check for consistent water flow through the weirs .  Place the old metal V - Notch Weirs in the provided metal recycling dumpster . WRBP to arrange for off - site disposal .  Demobilization and site clean - up – all debris to be disposed off site and work area cleaned up . Gate Valve and Damaged Concrete Channel As a minimum , the contractor shall perform the work below on the Influent side of the Headworks Building :  Mobilization to site – Tools , equipment and supplies .  Divert the Influent Wastewater to Channel # 1 .  Remove the failed Gate Valve .  Install the new Rodney Hunt Gate Valve as supplied by the WRBP and re - mortar following manufacturer ’ s specifications and good industry standards of care .  Remove any damaged concrete in channel # 2 and repair those areas as necessary .  Place the failed Gate Valve in the metal recycling dumpster . WRBP to arrange for off - site disposal .  Operate the new Gate Valve and observe for proper operation .  Remove and dispose of the materials that were used to divert the Influent Flow .  Demobilization and site clean - up – all debris to be disposed off - site and work area cleaned up .
