Description

The purpose of this Invitation for Bid ( IFB ) is to obtain pricing for and award an Agency Specific Term Contract to a responsive Vendor ( s ) to provide Void Filling Grout ( Packaged ) to the North Carolina Department of Transportation ( NCDOT ) on an “ as needed ” basis if ordered by NCDOT . The void filling grout specified herein will primarily be used for traffic barriers and for filling subsurface voids . SPECIFICATIONS The specific items and any specifications that the Purchasing Agency is seeking shall conform to Section 1024 - 1 and 1024 - 5 of the North Carolina Department of Transportation Raleigh STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS FOR ROADS AND STRUCTURES dated January 2024 , excluding the following language in Section 1024 - 5 : “ Provide fly ash that meets ASTM C618 for Class F or Class C , except ensure that the loss on ignition does not exceed 4 %.” Items offered by the Vendor must also meet or exceed the specifications listed below : 1 . The packaged grout mixture shall be a homogenous blend of Type IL Cement and Class F Fly Ash . 2 . The packaged grout mixture shall consist of not less than 24 % and no more than 30 % Type IL Cement . 3 . Type IL ( Portland - limestone cement ) and Class F Fly Ash shall meet the requirements of AASHTO M240M / M 240 - 241 and ASTM C618 , respectively . 4 . The mix shall be furnished in 50lb . leak - free paper bags meeting the below specifications with the contents , weight , and Vendor identification clearly labeled thereon : a . 2 - 60 # paper layers b . 1 - 50 # paper layers c . ½ mil high density polyethylene film 5 . The bags shall be shrink - wrapped and shipped fifty - six ( 56 ) bags per pallet .
