Vulnerable User Identification and Safety Demonstration System

The City of Nampa ( City ) invites written proposals to provide Vulnerable User Identification and Safety ( VIS ) Demonstration System and to help understand and manage conflicts between motor vehicles and vulnerable road users such as bicyclists and pedestrians . The procurement of the elements of the VIS Demonstration System is part of a larger vision to manage traffic operations and public safety incidents throughout the city and as a technology demonstration for the region ’ s partner agencies including Community Planning Association of Southwest Idaho ( COMPASS ), Ada County Highway District ( ACHD ), and Idaho Transportation Department ( ITD ). Proposers shall submit a proposal of a VIS Demonstration System capable of multimodal detection , processing , signal controller actuation , and analytics . The VIS Demonstration System will be procured as an annual Software - as - a - Service , which includes any necessary hardware and / or software subsystems to meet the System Requirements ( Attachment B ). The City may select more than one proposer to address some or all of the safety applications described in this RFP .
