1 . 1 . Summary San Mateo Medical Center ( SMMC ) is a public hospital and clinic system fully accredited by The Joint Commission . SMMC operates outpatient clinics throughout San Mateo County , an acute - care hospital , and long - term care facilities in San Mateo and Burlingame . San Mateo Medical Center serves the health care needs of all residents of San Mateo County , with an emphasis on education and prevention , and without regard for ability to pay . The County of San Mateo is seeking proposals for Wander Management System . 2 . 1 . Summary SMMC is seeking a vendor to provide SMMC with a new wander management solution with ongoing support and maintenance services . SMMC may request to add additional units and devices after implementation . Please provide cost for each additional device or unit along with installation and / or related services that your company offers . 2 . 2 . Objectives Prevent unauthorized patient wandering Ensure real - time monitoring and alerts for staff Integrate with existing hospital systems if applicable ( Electronic Health Record System , EPIC and our Nurse Call System , Voalte ) Provide durable and reliable patient devices with tamper alerts 2 . 3 . Scope The chosen vendor shall provide : Implementation of the new wander management system Training materials with on - site education are preferred Hardware required for the new system ( door sensors / gateways , patient wearables , monitoring devices , etc .) Identify the wireless technology used with the platform solution . ( Can be RFID or Bluetooth ) Solution must not interfere with existing wireless connectivity in use within the facility , 2 . 4 , 5 , 6GHz Software with management tools or live monitoring tools Dashboard with live monitoring Real - time alerts Specify the alert methods available ( preferred approach is audible and visual alarms at or near the door or device and Nursing Station ). Reporting capabilities Built - in reporting to track alarms and response times are preferred Solutions may include Real - Time Location System ( Optional ) Access to facility RTLS location services will be browser based . The number and type of frequency receivers should be noted . Configuration of the system and system administrative functions for Health users will be performed via web browser . . Network diagram and logical data flow All respondents will include a physical solution network diagram and logical data flow diagram .
