Sealed Bids for the construction of the Water System Improvements will be received, by City of Meigs, at 1006 East Depot Street, Meigs, GA 31765, until 11:00 AM, Thursday, March 5, 2026, local time, at which time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read. No bid may be withdrawn after the closing time for receipt of bids for a period of sixty (60) days. The work to be done shall consist of furnishing all labor, materials and equipment necessary to construct the proposed Water System Improvements as shown on the construction drawings. In general, construction consists of improvements to the water system and it¿s divided into two phases. Phase 1 includes the replacement of +/- 4,280 L.F. of pipeline, as well as retrofitting or replacing approximately +/- 422 existing water meters and installation of transmitters and collectors; Hardware, software, and training for Automated Meter Infrastructure (AMI) with GEFA-funded improvements, while Phase 2 consists of the replacement of +/- 8,969 L.F. of pipeline with CDBG-funded improvements, and all associated measures for the complete project. Time allotted for completion of work is 180 consecutive calendar days to substantial completion. Work shall be complete and ready for contract close-out with 194 consecutive calendar days. All work shall be completed in accordance with the plans and specifications. The work will be awarded in one (1) Contract. Prospective Bidders may examine the Bidding Documents at Watkins & Associates, LLC on Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 8 A.M. and 5 P.M. Upon request and receipt of the document payment indicated above, Watkins & Associates, LLC will transmit the Bidding Documents via delivery service.
