Widen & Replace Asphalt Trail at Texas Drive Park

PULVERIZE ● Pulverize all specified sections of existing HMA trail down to gravel base . ● Grade and compact the widened section along with the existing pulverized section . ● MDOT 21AA make up gravel may be required and shall be placed at the direction of the Township . Cost for providing , grading and compacting make up gravel shall be included in the Unit Cost section of the proposal located on page 14 . ● Make up gravel does not include the 6 - inch gravel being placed in the widened section . It will only be used to supplement gravel thickness after pulverizing has been completed . PAVE ● Install 3 ” MDOT 5EL HMA ( two course construction ) per HMA path detail below . A bond coat is required between the two lifts of HMA applied at a rate of 0 . 05 - 0 . 15 gallons / square yard . ● HMA material and construction shall be in accordance with the 2020 MDOT Standard Specifications for Construction CLEAN UP AND RESTORATION ● Use trench excavation material to dress up edges and provide a uniform grade away from new HMA surface to existing grade . ● Add topsoil as needed to create a smooth surface that drains away from the trail , plant lawn seed and cover with straw or other mulch . ● Trail surface shall be swept upon completion of the work described herein . ● All debris and waste materials shall be removed by the contractor to an approved location .
