1 . Provide policy and claim guidance specifically related to airport operations and activities 2 . Work with Agency executive staff to bind insurance policy ensuring coverage is aligned with airport activity , staff levels , potential grown and budgetary guidelines . 3 . Represent the IVDA & SBIAA in negations with potential policy provider on issues related to coverage , fees , benefit levels , plan design and special terms and conditions . 4 . Assist with the transition , implementation and communication of new coverage and available services to the executive team and covered employees . 5 . Ensure timely initial contact and ongoing communication with employees and / or injured parties regarding the status of their claim . 6 . Provide modern , digitized web - based claim management and communication 7 . Thoroughly investigate all claims made against the Agencies through appropriate claim procedures as necessitated by the severity of the injury 8 . Ensure correct payment of medical expenses and lost time benefits 9 . Establish partnership with current IVDA & SBIAA Medical Provider 10 . Ability to ensure dedicated claim adjuster assigned to all IVDA & SBIAA claims 11 . Prepare claim files and provide administrative support to Agency selected defense attorney as required . 12 . Attend depositions , trials , mediations , and / or settlement conferences as needed 13 . Regularly review claims and loss reports . 14 . Maintain clear and regular communication with Agency staff regarding claim administration 15 . Assist the Agencies in obtaining additional loss control / prevention services , resources and strategies to mitigate risk ; wellness and safety events ; provide ergonomic assessments and recommendations . 16 . Provide the Agencies with safety and Workers ’ Compensation training resources , materials , and reimbursement opportunities to prevent injuries and mitigate losses .
